VISION EXAMS
Adults need regular eye exams to diagnose vision impairment, evaluate the overall health of the eye, and track progression of any diagnosed conditions. Regular eye exams can also lead to detection of general health conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes before they become symptomatic, providing the opportunity to seek early medical treatment.
ADVANCE EYE HEALTH SCREENING
As part of our dedication to providing our patients with the latest in eyecare technology, we offer an optional series of tests using digital imaging technology in addition to your routine eye exam. These images are an invaluable diagnostic tool, allowing earlier detection of conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. The advanced eye health screening series is recommended for all new patients and every other year for current patients.
ADULT VISION CARE
For adults, a comprehensive eye exam is recommended annually. These routine eye exams are billed to your vision insurance and are used to diagnose and treat the following conditions:
-
Vision correction for farsightedness or nearsightedness, myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
If you already have a medical diagnosis for an eye condition or disease, or one is made during your exam, the appointment is billed to your medical insurance. The following conditions diagnosed during eye exams are considered medical in nature:
-
Ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, dry eye disease, blepharitis, or hordeolum styes.
-
Systemic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, melanoma, and neurological disorders like multiple sclerosis or stroke.
