contact lenses

A contact lens exam allows us to collect information not normally captured during a standard eye exam. If you are a first-time contact lens wearer, we will also determine which contact lens type is the best choice for your prescription and lifestyle. Note that contact lens prescriptions expire every 12 months so maintaining an annual appointment schedule is important.

We offer the latest soft and rigid contact lenses:

  • Multifocal contact lenses (bifocal, trifocal or progressive) for presbyopia.

  • Daily, disposable soft contact lenses like Acuvue Oasys, ideal for astigmatism.

  • Hybrid contact lenses such as SynergEyes.

  • Rigid gas-permeable lenses for irregular corneas due to surgery or keratoconus.

EYEGlasses

Our onsite, ABO-certified opticians are available to consult and advise which eyeglass and lens options suit your prescription and activity level best.

Some of our unique lens offerings:

  • Varilux family of progressive lenses.

  • Computer progressive lenses and blue light filters.

  • Transition lenses.

We also pride ourselves on constantly updating our frame lines to offer the latest brands and fashions in the eyewear industry.  While the choices may be overwhelming, our opticians are trained to help you select the best frame shape, color, and style to match your personal look.

LASIK AND REFRACTIVE SURGERY CO-MANAGEMENT

If you’d like to be evaluated for vision correction without dependence on glasses or contact lenses, we offer co-management of LASIK and other refractive surgeries.  The initial exam includes a series of tests and measurements to determine your current prescription and evaluate if you qualify for LASIK surgery or other refractive surgery options.  We will then refer you to one of our outstanding surgical partners to perform the LASIK or refractive surgery.  Our team will then continue to monitor your post-surgery recovery.

MYOPIA MANAGEMENT

In the past, parents of young children diagnosed with myopia (nearsightedness) were told that the condition would likely worsen as the child aged. Children who are myopic now have the opportunity to be treated with either low dose Atropine eyedrops or a specialty soft contact lens to reduce the progression of the condition.

The Hills Eyecare and Optical is certified in the Brilliant Futures MiSight Myopia Management Program, the only contact lens FDA-approved for the treatment of myopia.  Schedule a vision exam now to see if your child is a candidate for either treatment option.

As a parent, you may have been wearing glasses for years, but for a child, not being able to see in school, while participating in activities, or playing with friends can be quite scary.  Take a look at our vision simulator to see for yourself what life looks like for a child with myopia.
